So we’ve finished Wands And Witches.

It took us a long seven years. It’s fair to say there were big pauses in the game’s development. But it was always you – our players – who helped us out. It was you who gave us the strength and motivation to move on.

We always tried to listen to the community. It was your wishes and the results of your polls that guided us in creating this game. During these years, even the very concept of the game has changed. Initially the game was planned to be more like a sandbox, with no main story at all. The animations were simple and made on the engine (you can still see some of these animations in the game).

But it was your feedback that made the game what it became. The game became simpler, more obvious, less grindy.

During this time the composition of our team has also changed a lot. Two writers have changed. Almost a dozen artists and designers worked on our game at different times.

But now the development of the game is finished. How do we feel about it? Various things. We are happy that now we will be able to focus on the development of a new project. We are a little bit sorry to part with our old characters (though let’s not hide it, we’ve gotten bored enough with them 

 ). Technically, the game has become quite outdated during this time. And we could hardly refrain from spending a lot of time to bring it to more modern standards. Maybe we’ll still do it later, releasing a gold edition or something. Anyway, in the coming months, the game may still get minor updates for localizations that community members help us with.

But now, version 1.0 is out. We hope our older players will enjoy what our game has become and how it ended. And those who didn’t play Wands And Witches during development will be able to discover this game.

This version contains the finals, and technically completes the game. It’s size approximately 16,000 words in the English version. Finals are very complex, and depend on both your actions and the actions of the NPCs during the game. There are three main plots, depending on how you progressed through the game, and character finales. All animations have been completed too.

v0.95 Public

As we already wrote, there are no new quests in this version. Instead, we focused on completing previously started quests. The eight previously started quests were expanded and completed.

The new content includes new scenes with Hermione (for the male and female characters, but more for the females). New scenes with Luna (for both male and female characters). New scenes with Harry for the female character. New scene with Ron for the male character. And also several new events with special art for them.

Also, we introduced the way to influence relationships between NPCs, as well as the way to know about these relationships. Both are achieved through new events with old characters.

In addition, we have made some changes to the game balance. Some “tough” characters now have reduced skills and abilities requirements during their quests.

Also, according to your numerous requests, we have removed the restrictions on playing time in this version. However, if you play beyond a certain point, the game will warn you that further saves may not be suitable for the finals.

We have redesigned the reward in some quests, and they give a constant increase in your character’s abilities now. In fact, you can get +1 to each ability during the game.

– fixed a bug due to which quest 2 could start in the afternoon
– fixed a bug preventing the completion of quest 65 for a female character in some cases.

– Two new quests. The first is the Christmas ball. The second takes place during the ball, and you will fail it if you can’t manage to complete it before the ball is over.
– New outfits for almost all characters.
– New, more varied sprite for Ginny. So far we have only used it for the ball, but we will replace her old sprite in the rest of the game in the next versions.
– Four backgrounds have been redesigned or redrawn to better match the holiday spirit.
– Three new soundtracks.
– We’ve fixed a lot of bugs from previous versions.
